So last week I got to participate in what was probably the coolest experience of my life thus far: I got to sing backup for Josh Groban! (Along with 19 of my fellow Nazareth students.)
We were selected to sing in three shows with him in Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo, and we had the time of our lives doing it. We had two weeks to prepare the music and then did the three shows over five days. It was a crazy week for sure!
We endured some long car rides, which fortunately were made easier with good friends, loud show tunes, some very interesting fans both at the shows and on the highways, and long waits for Josh to finish sound checks, which of course we used to take selfies in front of the marquees. In the end, it was well worth it all to share the stage with this incredible musician, performer, and genuinely kind man.
Thank you to Nazareth's music faculty and to Josh Groban for making this possible!
Nazareth is FULL of awesome opportunities for music majors like studying abroad (example: choir and opera tour through Poland), trips to music therapy conferences, service trips to Jamaica, and on-campus a cappella groups like Call4Backup!
