Addison in Italy while studying abroad
I learned so much from studying abroad!

Best experiences in college?

Working with Dr. Newby for scientific research, we were able to analyze pigments in oil paintings to explore their provenance. (Naz created a video about my attic mystery project!

I was able to present our research at Nazareth's Creative Activity and Research Showcase, the American Chemical Society national meeting, and through a video produced by Nazareth. The reception of our project was so gratifying and shows how rewarding my future career will be.

What lesson will you take with you from your Nazareth years?

My time spent studying abroad in Italy and Greece has shown me that the best experiences happen outside of your comfort zone. This remains true on campus, and it is incredibly rewarding to try new things and put yourself out there.

What’s next after Naz?

My plan is to attend graduate school for a degree in the conservation and restoration of paintings.

What are you most looking forward to in your life’s work?

My time at Naz has shown me how fulfilling the marriage of arts and sciences can be. There is so much to explore in conservation, and my interdisciplinary studies here have prepared me for this unique field.

Who’s had a great impact on you?

Professors Bokelman and Toothe in the Art History department have truly fostered my love for the subject. Their enthusiasm for art history is infectious, and it assures me that I am entering a field I am passionate about.
