Master's in film and media scoring, NYU Steinhardt

What are you most looking forward to in your life’s work? How has Naz prepared you for success?

I look forward to continuing my education and honing my craft in writing music for media such as film, TV, and video games. I plan on pursuing a career that lets me work on amazing projects that (hopefully) span the globe. I aspire to be the kind of artist capable of creating projects that impact people; the kind of impact that changes something inside the mind and heart and inspires generations to come.

Best experiences?

Some of my best experiences included heading to Atlanta, Georgia, for the world premiere of the string orchestra arrangement of my piece "The Odyssey of a Seafarer," as well as the premiere of my choir piece "The Old Year" by the Nazareth University Chamber Singers.

It's a humbling experience to hear people put the time and effort into learning my music. As a younger composer, I don't always get the opportunity to hear my music performed; when it does happen, it feels surreal.

What lesson will you take with you from your Nazareth years?

Take things a little bit at a time. Progress is often slow but steady, so enjoy every moment.

Who’s had a great impact on you?

Dr. Vazquez has been an amazing professor and mentor for me throughout my time at Nazareth University. From the fundamentals of composing to the little nuggets of philosophy, Dr. Vazquez has helped me grow as a composer and as a person. I am grateful for the time, energy, and dedication he has put forth on my behalf.
