I set a Naz outdoor high jump record last year: 6.2 feet (1.9 meters).

Best experiences in college?

Our supportive and caring track and field team has been a great community to belong to. We have fun hanging out together, and if someone is feeling down or that they didn’t do their best, we pick each other back up. Track and field has been a great way for me to de-stress.

I’ve learned leadership, communication, and adapting on the team, and we’ve won three E8 championships in a row!

High jumping gives me a great sense of being calm and free.

What’s next? What are you most looking forward to in your life’s work?

I find joy in helping others improve their lives. My public health and business background and experiences have prepared me for a broad range of options. A Naz career fair led to my job as a summer camp dining hall manager, which gave me experience in supply management, logistics, collaboration, and good nutrition, provided in a supportive environment that meets all health and safety regulations. I lived and worked alongside camp counselors from countries such as Scotland, Sweden, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, and England.

My next goal is to work in business or health administration to continue learning and advancing my skills while having a positive impact on my organization and community.

I shared a research poster at the Naz Creative Activity & Research Showcase 2025 about how I integrated leadership and public health in my role at Camp Stella Maris.

Lessons you’ll take with you?

Life is full of opportunities. Each experience, positive or negative, can bring new teachings and chances to implement and improve my capabilities and skills.

My business leadership senior capstone project is one example. Through the X-Culture international experiential learning project, teammates and I from multiple countries created an expansion plan for a Brazilian footwear company. Team members had different values, and there were challenges to working together.

Ultimately, we completed the report, and I was among just 150 out of 6,000 students accepted to the 2025 X-Culture Global Business Week professional development experience in Finland in August!

Who’s had a great impact on you?

The Public Health Department and the School of Business & Leadership have had such a great lasting impact on me. I have a relationship with each professor I’ve had a course with. They know me and consistently check in on how things are going in both my professional and personal life.
